Homework-First 5 Spelling words in Spicy Sentences (SS). Practice Test
(Reminders for Spicy Sentences: Detailed sentences, capital letters, punctuation, spelling word underlined).
ME BAGS-due 9/14
Update. We talked about September 11th this morning and read three great books after watching a Brainpop: New York's Bravest, The Man Who Walked Between the Towers, and September 12th:The Day We Knew Everything Would Be Alright. After smiling beautifully for picture day we had PE and Music, then Me Bags from 3 classmates. They did a great job!
In the afternoon we did MAP math test, read aloud, and did some work on our Wonderful Words notebooks. Let me know if you have any questions about this, by the way!

NO HOMEWORK TONIGHT! :)
We had a great day getting onto KHAN ACADEMY on our ipads. Mr. Kuntz came in and also introduced Learn Storm which is a great way to motivate our brains and practice having a growth mindset!
Science today featured Fibonacci! We had a great time learning about the connection between numbers and nature. Here's a really fun video which explains some of the connections:

Tuesday, September 4th-Homework and Update
Homework - Math WB pp. 20-21
Update: SO HOT!! We started our MAP tests today but due to a computer problem (systems weren't updated for us! :( ) and the heat, we only worked on them for a short amount of time. We'll finish up on them tomorrow morning.
I also modeled my ME BAG today (finally!!). I've included a picture of my Top 10 so you can get an idea of what it could look like. (Think David Letterman: "And the Number 1 thing you need to know about insert name is ________!" This should be the most important thing we need to know about your child.) I'll show you some of my pictures on curriculum night (and the ME BAG file) so you guys know what the presentation could be like.
Kids did a great job through the heat! Hoping for a little respite by Thursday!

Thursday, August 30th - Homework and Update
Homework-Math Lesson 3 Homework pp.12-13. If they are having a hard time with the number bonds, they can skip those parts of the lesson.
Update: Today we got our iPADS!! I'm sure you will have heard about that. We're starting our boot camp lessons and the ipads will stay here at school until October (usually). We have a charging cart here and students will learn responsible and safe usage here at school. We'll talk a lot about this at Curriculum Night as well. We also read more of Winn Dixie and are getting closer to the end! Ask your child about the story if you're interested. It's a winner!!
