From our Bloggers Maxy and Maclaine...11/4
This week are class had a Halloween party! When we came back from lunch we changed into are Halloween costumes. Then we went to the parade. You would think that we all had coats on because it was fall, but it was warm, and beautiful. When we came back from the parade it was time for a Halloween party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Soon one of the students passed out two goody bags. Soon there were zucchini bread. Are Halloween party turned out great. In are reading book we learned about butterflies. We had a reading test, and a spelling test. We also had to finish are picture dictionaries. And we did pumpkin people. The class had to finish there Morton Arboretum Reading. We did measuring in math. Sometimes if we were lucky we would be able to go on Jonnie’s math page. Some kids in the class are in book club. Last months book club book was The Invention of Hugo Cabret. This months book club book is the Magic Thief. The class only needs 2 more popsicle sticks before we get a movie party. We had read aloud like usual, we had a short day on Wednesday like usual, and the Brooks people came over to do a show on Tuesday, NOT like usual. It was a busy fun week.

Science-IN your science journal, write a reflection about your experience on our field trip today. What was it like? What did you enjoy? Did you have a favorite experience? What new sites did you see? Which ecosystem did you enjoy the most? These are just a few examples, but your reflection should be what YOU want to write about. It should be around 10-20 sentences, but you're not limited to that if you're feeling like writing more.

Spicy Sentences #1-10. (Spicy Sentences are just spelling sentences that have some detail (SOME SPICE!) to them. We're looking for more specific sentences, not just "The cat ran." Let me know if you need help. We started these together in class. If students would prefer to write a story using these words, that is also fine.
